  • The cause and effect focus for the grading period was introduced with illustrations from the history reading at the beginning of Unit 2
  • Note taking skills, purposes, and goals reviewed and exampled in class
    • Using book text structures and organization to assist in note taking
    • Knowing your learning style as part of the process
    • Basic techniques of two column notes, Cornell notes, outline notes, and Q & A notes
  • Assignment: Students are required to open their literature books and take careful notes over pages 286 to 303.
    • Students are to keep their notes until after the open notes test on 11/2/12
  • Assignment: Vocabulary test and related homework due 11/2/12
    • Students were given the vocabulary words handout
  • All grades for the grading period were posted and explained
    • Including the detailed writing project grade
