Drama: 5/12/11
- Warm up: this versus that. Students are paired to do a series arguments.
- Warm up: assign each person in the class a part of a trap set and require to do a basic rhythm up to a drum roll
- Students spent the rest of the class working on completing the sound track for the radio show.

English 4: 5/10,11/11
- Students have until the end of this week to turn in reams of paper for extra credit
- All papers will be passed out because some of the students will need them for the semester exam. Students will be allowed to use their notebooks on their semester exam.
- Students are to compare their returned work to the posting of grades on the wall to make sure they are getting full credit for all their work.
- Students are to find all missing assignments based on the posted grades for make up.
- Students are to continue working on the punctuation assignment in the workbooks, which will be graded next class. This is preparation for exam questions.
- Students are to complete the colorful language assignment.
Drama 5/10/11
- Deadlines given: Final perfect peformance is to be 5/20/11 because it is the last day our seniors (three in class) will be with us.
- By performance, the following must be complete: 1. All needed sound effects must be found, adapted, recorded, and sorted; 2. All persons must have rehearsed their individual characters and performance; 3. The performance and sound effects must be rehearsed, 4. The performance will be recorded for sharing with others.

English 4: 5/6, 9/11
- Students can still turn in copy paper for extra credit.
- Students were given 15 minutes to study for Word Parts 4 test
- The test was given
- Handouts: A. The Uh Oh list was given, B. The Figurative Language page was given
- Cartoons were used on the projector to show examples of creative language and communication. Students focused on what they had to know to understand the cartoon, content, word use, symbology, and background knowledge.
- Assignment: Colorful Language. The assignment was completely explained on overhead and handout.
- The rest of the period was spent completing the writing assignment which can not be turned in after 3:30 today. Students who have completed the writing project worked on the continuing punctuation assignment in the Grammar Workbook, pages 157 - 187.
Drama 5/6/11`
- Went over the website SoundEffects.org. Read about how Star Wars sound effects were created. Student had an opportunity to listen to the effects after the explanation.
- Students were treated to a long radio interview with Ben Burtt, the creater of the Star Wars sound effects.
- Students were given the rest of the period to work on their current project of finding the sounds necessary for the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy script. Sounds are saved to the server in a special folder, as the sounds are found or manipulated and adapted

English 4: 5/4,5/11
- Students have until the end of next week to bring in reams of copy paper for extra credit. Limit 2 per student.
- Review and correct Edit 9 for turn in.
- Review and correct the commas assignment for turn in.
- Students assigned all punctuation assignments in the Grammar Workbook, pages 157 - 168 except the following: A. Assignment B, page 162; B. Assignment B, page 165; C. Assignments A and B, page 168.
- Students were given time to study and work independently so I could help students currently working on the writing project.
- Reviewed and answered questions related to the writing project.
- The final opportunity to turn in the writing project is Friday, May 6, by 3:30 p.m.
Drama: 5/4/11
- Students pulled out their list of the sound effects plan.
- A list of all recorded sound effects is on the server for the students to use with four CD's of recorded sound effects.
- Students are to find useable sound effects from the list. Once found, each sound needs to be evaluated based on any need to adapt, change, lengthen or shorten or whatever.
- There is an additional folder of music which can be used for background or any other place music might play.
- Part of this process is to identify any sound we don't have available for recording. Manual sounds will be assigned for students.
- A folder has been set up for students to collect the sounds they find.
- Once all sounds are found and recorded, even the manual ones, students will create a orderly recording track for the performance.

English 4: 5/2, 3/11
- Students study and review for word parts test 3, covering sections 5 and 6, from clud to dia
- Test given
- Edit and correct edit handouts 7 and 8 and turn in
- Assign and give Edit 9 handout
- Handout punctuation rules with examples. This is to be studied and used for all punctuation assignments and as preparation for the semester exam.
- Powerpoint show on commas with explanations
- Assign and give old comma test for students to correctly edit by next class.
Drama: 5/2/11
- Students did a thorough discussion of the recent play of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Discussion included the importance of improv, staying in character, costumes, sets, props, and more
- The class created a composite Foley plan by going through the entire play and identifying, from everyone's suggestions, what sounds were needed where.
- A master list of the composite was created and copied for all students.
- The next phase will be to identify which recorded sounds are already available, which recorded sounds need to be adapted, and which sounds need to be manually created.
English 4: 4/28, 29/11
- Read and take notes on Frankenstein, pages 844, 845
- Read "Ozymandias," pages 846 - 848. Do all margin and end questions and turn them in
- Read "Words and Behavior" pages 1240 - 1253. Do all margin and end questions and turn in
- Read "Night" on pages 1256 - 1263. Do all margin and end questions and turn in.
Drama: 4/28/11
- Students joined the Romeo and Juliet SSA in the library to participate and observe the preparations necessary for tonight's performance.
