English 4 & 4H for the week of 4/23-27/12

  1. Students begin editing with handout 1: Spelling errors
  2. Students assigned stage one for poetry project: Find and bring a copy of a poem or song lyric written by an English author.
  3. Students reminded of make up work with grades posted. Letter to home explaining all processes, including makeup provided
  4. Students continue working on "England Tour" project with topic 3 due this week.

Drama: For the Week 4/23-27/12

  • Students will give and complete PowerPoint presentations based on Make Up artist and creation.
  • Students will rehearse and begin presentations on Pantomime project
  • Students are given a list of brainstorm topics to begin consideration
    • Semester exams - written? performed? both? how?
    • Lists for next year, including - improvs, pantomimes, warmups, video trainings, goals and aspirations, improvements and suggestions.

English 4 & 4H: 4/9 to 20/12

  1. Critical Reminders: A. Students must complete their "Terms" project. It is worth 225 points of their grade. B. Students must turn in their daily project tour journals because it is the primary ongoing grade, worth 30 points per day.
  2. Students should be complete or mostly complete with the "History" topic in the "England Virtual Tour" project
  3. This week, 4/9-13/12, is for the "Education" topic of the "England Virtual Tour" project. Students have three class days to complete this segment of the assignment on the class computers.
  4. Next Week, 4/16-20/12, is FCAT test week. Students who come in the short time class is available, will spend the time catching up and working on the "England Virtual Tour" project.

Drama: 4/9-20/12

1. Students should have their special effects, makeup artist/creation PowerPoint completed.

2. Students will show their PowerPoint and explain what they discovered.

3. Students will create a character from available resources

a. They will create a makeup or mask

b. They will create a costume

c. They will create a pantomime that, with the costume and makeup/mask will manifest their character’s traits and characteristics.

d. Pantomime must be planned, and the plan must be written and turned in on the day of the performance.

e. Performances will hopefully begin on Friday, April 13th. Depending on how things go, and because of FCAT, performances may have to begin or be completed on April 20th
