English 4: 4/26,27/11
Drama: 4/26/11
- Focus one: Students in the play, must separate from the rest of the class and master their lines.
- Focus 2: Students who are not in the play, or have their lines mastered must correct and complete their returned research papers. Students either plagiarized their work or gave no resources for their information.
- The radio script needs to be in class next class so we can create a complete Foley plan from all the different ideas and suggestions.
- The next step will be to gather all the Foley elements and begin to rehearse them in time with the actor's performance.

English 4: 4/21, 25/11
- Students completed the first word parts test on word parts "ab" through "ary"
- Discussion: "How students overburden themselves by getting behind."
- Q and A related to writing project.
- Students are allowed to turn in a ream or two of paper for extra credit. Maximum limit is two reams per student. Students will get 20 points per ream.
- Review and grade Edit 5 on subject/verb agreement
- Notes: How to identify the parts of a sentence (pose) with explanation and examples
- Powerpoint presentations: 1. Using pronouns; 2. Pronoun antecedent agreement
- Assignment: Students given Edit 6 on pronoun use
- Any time left was given to work on Edit 6 and/or their writing project
Drama: 4/21/11
- Students pair to rehears students who are in the current Shakespeare play. All lines must be memorized and perfected.
- With whatever time is left, students are to complete their research project and work to complete the radio play Foley plan.

English 4: 4/15-20/11
- Friday and Wednesday we will have class.
- Monday and Tuesday are FCAT days in which few classes will meet and few seniors will come to school.
- On class meet days, students will work on four projects: A. Students are to work on their writing projects with my availability to assist. The project is due as soon as they can complete it. B. Students are to work on all make up work they have missed. I will call out missing assignments. C. Students are to go into teacherdocs on the computer and review the grammar powerpoints we've covered in the folder "HRW Grammar Powerpoints." D. Complete Edit 5 on subject/verb agreement.
- Reminder: The first word parts test will be next class
- Reminder: Students can earn 20 points of extra credit by bringing in a ream of printer paper. No student can bring in more than 2 reams.
Drama: 4/15 - 20/11
- Friday students will spend the day silently working on their 500 to 1000 word Foley research assignment. I expect the majority of the students to have it complete by the end of the day or at least be close enough that they can finish next class.
- Monday and Tuesday of next week will be make up FCAT testing for the whole school. We should meet on Tuesday afternoon.
- Tuesday, we will complete all Foley research papers and complete the list of Foley requirements for the current radio broadcast script.
English 4: 4/11-14/11
- Basically there was no class during this period. Juniors and seniors were excused absent Monday through Wednesday. There was testing on Thursday which allowed only one class to meet Thursday afternoon.
- Students who came Thursday afternoon were allowed to work on their assigned writing project.
Drama 4/11-14/11
- FCAT testing week. Juniors and seniors were excused Monday through Wednesday, and we only had one class on Thursday.
- Any student who came to class was given time to work on current projects related to the radio show, or run lines for the current after school production of Romeo and Juliet.

English 4: 4/7,8/11
- Q and A regarding the writing project
- Corrected Edit 3, "Run-ons and Sentence Fragments," and Edit 4, "Sentence Structure."
- Discusion, practice, and PowerPoint about subject/verb agreement.
- Assignment: Students given Edit 5, "Subject/Verb Agreement"
- Students are given the dates, deadlines, and expectations for the word parts tests or assignments
- Visit with Ms. Neil regarding signing the senior T-shirt, bringing pictures for the senior slide show, and senior parent meeting to plan food and related for upcoming events.
Drama: 4/7/11
- Students spent a fair amount of time doing Foley warmup/improv. Once student told the story, the other made the sounds; then they reversed.
- Students were reminded of their assignments
- Students were given a copy of the script they chose for the foley challenge. We are working on reading and deciding what sounds are needed where.
- If time, students were given an opportunity to work with computers for their mini-research project.

- Discuss and give examples of the three writing projects available. The final opportunity to turn the work in is May 6. Students may turn the pre-write and essay any time before that day. Students are advised to read the assignment carefully so they will fulfill all expectations.
- Students had notes on the board related to clauses and phrases
- Students were walked through two PowerPoints: Sentence Fragments and Run On Sentences
- Assignment: Students were given Edit 3 and 4 due next class
- Assignment: Students discussed and decided how to study the word parts list. Most chose quizzes. The quizzes will be on 20 word parts each
- Students were given the rest of the class to work.

- Students watched to videos about the work of a Foley (sound effects) artist
- Discussion of sound effects and its impact on radio and movie productions
- Assignment: Each student is to do a 500 to 1000 word informal research on a Foley artist or Sound Effects artistry
- Assignment: Students were give the rest of the period to search the website (www.simplyscripts.com/ratio.html) to find a script the class can agree to perform.
- Students will be given a script and be required to evaluate it for all sound effects necessary.
- Students will be required to create a Foley chart plan for the production, and each student will be required to make one manual sound effect for the production
