• Exaggeration: students will go outside and do a warm up requiring them to project their voices and non-verbal expressions as though presenting in a large auditorium

Activities:

• Slide Show regarding facts and information about melodrama
• Video: Vincent Price performs Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven"
• Discussion of the performance
• Discussion about "cheating" out to the audience
• Assignment
• All students are to find a piece of literature that they will perform as a dramatic reading showing all visual and tonal qualities necessary to represent the piece they've chosen to read. The piece must be found and shown to the teacher on or before Friday, 10/4/12.
