- BR: Why should we study history, especially English history for English literature.
- Check students workbook pages 4 and 5A, and students self correct their work from the projector.
- Pages 10 and 11 will be checked and corrected next class.
- Read The Hobbit, pages 41-54. Assignment 1: Students will continue to maintain a timeline or chronological list of story events. Assignment 2: Students will write a character analysis based on any character presented so far. They will identify whether or not the character has changed since the beginning of the book and back up their thesis statement with support from the story.
- Students were given two pages of notes on techniques of note taking including 2 column notes and Q and A notes.
- Vocabulary test will come next class.
Honors extra
- Students were given a bell ringer based on the function or value of school spirit.
- Following the essay was a discussion about community, its value and function to high school students.
