• Vocabulary homework changes: Students now have 3 choices for the derivations section of their homework. 1. They can still do 3 derivations; 2. They can draw one pictograph showing the meaning of the word; 3. Give the etymology for the word. Students may use any combination of the three choices for the derivation section and do not have to stick with just one choice throughout.
• SNT 13: The ballad was very sad. (Ballad was explained in class)
• CYA 13 with related notes and mini-lessons
• Elements of Language (EOL) pages 54-62: Q & A and reminder of next deadline
• Lit Book "Popol Vuh" was missed for lack of time
• Reminder: all AR books must be on Mr. Joiner's list to count.
• AR logs put on overhead to copy. Two compare/contrast logs due for the first book by midterm deadline. Two Reporter's Notes logs due on the second book by end of grading period deadline. Reading logs explained in detail.
• For Periods 2 and 6, students were required to take new versions of the last vocabulary and notebook tests due to mishaps last class while the teacher was gone.
• Periods 2 and 6 will have to make up SNT and CYA 13.
