- Read aloud "Dutchman's Flat" by Louis L'Amour: Students are to look for and take notes on 1. Foreshadowing: what hints lead to what expectations of possible happenings in the story; 2. Analyze the hunted man, give an explanation of his qualities/character based on what he does and what the posse say about him. Essays due one day after the completion of the story reading in class.
