English 4 and 4H: 9/28,29/11


  1. BR: Students are to get a book, and turn to page 266 - 272 and create a list of questions about the compare contrast assignment.

  2. We had a long discussion in which the teacher pushed and answered questions that students could copy for their bell ringer.

  3. Through the process of 1 and 2 above, each class went through the entire process for the process-writing assignment (compare/contrast essay).

  4. Handout: Students were given a handout of the 4D's of writing preparation and explained how this process works

  5. Students were give their choice of using the book's writing process or the 4D's. They were also given their choice of prompt 1 or 2

  6. We read the Hobbit, pages 90 - appx 105. Assigned identify a problem and how the group resolved it. Students are to continue keeping the event timeline/log
