English 4 & 4H: 10/19,20/11

1. BR: Write a journal (minimum 1 paragraph) about your own writing habits, style, gifts, problems, and/or etc.


2. Mini-project: Students will break up into six groups or less. Each group will get an English resource book and look through it for vocabulary assignments or assignments that can be adapted for vocabulary study (the resource book contains FRI, CRISS, and related forms and ideas). Each group will make a choice, write the choice, and their reasons for choosing it. Each group will present their choice to the class and turn in their written copy. The class will vote and choose the homework they will be doing from this point forward.


3. Handout: Unit 2 vocabulary list


4. Next test date: October 31, November 1. The homework is due on the day the student takes the test, whether with the class or by make up.


5. Hobbit deadline: The Hobbit assignments 7 - 12 with the timeline are due October 26 and 27, 2011.


6. Hobbit: Read pages 128 - 136. Do continuing timeline. Writting assignment: If Gandalf (or Bilbo) were a car or a piece of furniture or an animal, which would he be and why?
