1. Pass out all papers


2. Threat about copied work: some students have begun copying each others work instead of doing their own original work. This is automatic cause for a zero with no debate or second chance. Only notes can be copied - never a writing assignment.


3. Posted grades with all zeros highlighted. Highlight in red were previously posted and are no longer available for make up. Highlight in purple are assignments currently available for make up until this Friday at which point zeros remaining become permanent.


4. Projector notes: the epic standards with explanation and examples


5. Read The Hobbit, pages 116 - 128. Assignment: In two paragraphs minimum, show how The Hobbit fits the epic standards.


6. Assign workbook pages 13, 14b, 16, 17a due next class. This completes parts of speech. A test can come at any time, possibly even Friday.


7. Remaining class time is for silent work.
