English 4 and 4H: 10/17,18/11



  1. BR: Handout on following directions. Do both sides. Be ready to discuss your opinion as to why this exercise is given the first class day after completion of project grading.


  2. Check workbooks and post corrections on the overhead for students to correct their work.


  3. Hand out projects. Go over project grades and grading processes.


  4. Assignment: Students are to create a project evaluation pair of lists. They are to list 1. all comments I made on their essay, and 2. all areas where they lost points on the assignment (student may use the published grade process to determine where they lost points).


  5. Students will keep the "project evaluation" as a worksheet for what they need to improve.


  6. All projects will be turned back in. I will keep a notebook of projects for each class. Each grading period, students will have a process writing project. Each final, graded project will be put in the notebook, so the student and I can monitor their progress over time.

Honors: Write a short essay (one or two paragraphs), giving a personal plan to overcome any shortcomings that became evident in the last project (refer to item 4 above).
