English 4 & 4H: 10/21/11

1. BR: Using vivid sensory language (explanation and examples given) describe a beautiful scene. The scene is of your choosing. If you think the buffet at Ole Country Time is beautiful, write about that


2. Reminders: (told and posted) Hobbit items 7-12 and the related timeline are due on Wednesday, October 26. Vocabulary homework and first test are due on Oct. 31/Nov. 1


3. Each student was given a copy of the 6 different possible vocabulary assignments. We went over the different possiblities. Students were told to keep these copies in section 2 of their notebook and use them for masters. They can copy them or do the assignments on their own paper, but do not ruin the masters.


4. Assignment: Choose one of the vocabulary masters for the current vocabulary homework. Students may vary vocabulary homework from test to test, but it must be one of the ones given.


5. Handout given: Unit 2 vocabulary list. All the academic vocabulary are marked for which test they belong to.
