Drama: 8/28/09

  1. Hand out a copy of Sarah Sylvia Cinthia Stout (SSCStout) for students to keep and read over. They need to bring their copy to class everyday for ongoing work.
  2. Read aloud and practice read aloud to get some personality into the words
  3. Based on the handout and reading of SSCStout, have each student build a character description based on the 16 points of character development in the Celtx program.
    Discuss the similarities and differences of the student character descriptions. Discuss why students ascribed the attributes in their description to the character in the poem. How is this character like others they know? Begin the process of considering putting on the character or the narrator's character to read the poem.
  4. Turn in written character description.
