• Read excerpts from "Letters from a Civil War Surgeon" to demonstrate the horrors of war, the appropriateness of the hearse in the parade, and the demeanor of the reenactors.
• Long discussion and explanation related to the culture and mores of the time of the civil war. We focused on the importance of being living history and being in the character of the times.
